Joy Electric- The White Songbook (Legacy Volume 1)

Where does almost a decade of being made fun of get you? It gets you to the point of being a musical genius if your name in Ronnie Martin. Just when I thought his synth pop could get no better he put out his latest release and me an extremely dear fan.

It is not much like his earlier works, in which the words are based around trolls and pixie dust. This album takes a much more metaphorical look on music, which makes it even more enjoyable. The music is also dramatically different at times, the song 'New Pirate Traditional' is simply just an angry techno song.

The album is set up some-what like a book, with chapters and stories. At the beginning of every chapter there is an instrumental song which shows a very expiramental sound. It is considered to be the first in a series of albums made out like books, which gives you a reason to start listening to it (To prepare for later works). Just like a book, the words inside are totally wonderful

There are 14 songs on the album, over 60 minutes of amazing music and I love every second of it. Even if you are not a huge fan of the synth pop check this out. I find that more and more indie/shoegazer listeners really enjoy the music made by JE, I am one of them. Please give this album a spin, this band deserves to be supported.
